Day two of #THRIVE2023 gets underway with host Joe Hildebrand, and an opening address by CEO Renee Carter.

Join Ursula for a fun and interactive session as she walks you through the joys and struggles of running a trauma-responsive organisation in the care and protection space in Aotearoa (New Zealand). Ursula will impart some of the best and most practical ways to establish connection, empower, and correct using a trauma-informed framework.

Based on the principles of Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®), you will leave with a basket of knowledge and strategies that you can start working with immediately. A session not to be missed if you ‘know’ about trauma, but just can’t seem to bridge the gap of ‘what to do’ to help heal traumatised/dysregulated children and adults heal.

Join Candice Butler, SNAICC Board Member, as she provides an address on behalf of SNAICC, the national voice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.

Hosted by Michelle Stacpoole, join Queensland Family and Child Commission Chief Executive and Principal Commissioner Luke Twyford, NSW Advocate for Children and Young People Zoë Robinson, and Tasmanian Commissioner for Children and Young People Leanne McLean, as they each discuss key programs and findings in their respective states in relation to children and young people.

Join CEO Jane Vadiveloo as she discusses the work of Children's Ground, a First Nations organisation uplifting First Nations knowledge systems designed, delivered and evaluated by the community and creating change for future generations.

Join host Renee Carter with  The Hon. Ryan Park MP, NSW Minister for Health, Steve Kinmond, Children’s Guardian NSW, Dr Sylvia Corish, from the NSW Department of Education, and Jason May from Bawamarra Cultural Services, as they discuss the importance of trauma-informed classrooms and providing appropriate support for the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in care.

Delivered by Angela Bontea and Julie Lord, this presentation aims to provide an overview of CASPA's Education Program, including its structure and the various programs implemented to ensure that young people maintain school engagement, achieve educational outcomes, and experience success and inclusion within the school environment. Additionally, the presentation will showcase the success of "The Tuckshop", a cafe and catering social enterprise engaging young people and creating career pathway opportunities.
