The NSW Carer Forum is an online event that brings together carers who are committed to the best possible outcomes for children and young people in out-of-home care (OOHC) and amplifies their voices.

This is your opportunity to hear from key decision makers regarding systemic issues and improvements in the NSW OOHC system.

Carers, agency caseworkers and managers are invited to join My Forever Family NSW (MFF) and representatives from the Department of Communities and Justice at the 2023 Carer Forum.

The forum will include:

  • An opportunity to hear from and meet with the NSW Minister for Family and Communities, the Hon. Kate Washington MP
  • Highlights from the 2022 Carer Survey Report of Findings
  • A focus on:
    • Services and supports for children in out-of-home care (OOHC)
    • Avenues for carer concerns and complaints
    • Financial supports for carers and young people in OOHC
  • An overview of the MFF Program, including information about our carer support service and an insight into Carer Reference Groups and Carer Support Groups.

The agenda and speaker details will be circulated prior to the event.

This is a strictly limited event and once capacity is reached registrations will be closed. We encourage you to register early to secure your place.

To register please complete the online form.

Note: The NSW Carer Forum is a facilitated online event and there will be time allocated for questions and discussion.

Please note:
This event is a forum for the discussion of systemic issues raised by carers. Please note that some sessions at the NSW Carer Forum will be exclusive for carers, while others are open for carers and agencies to attend.
