Speaker Bio
I am a proud Wiradjuri man from the Binjang clan of Wellington. Growing up I have always been connected to my culture, however a greater respect and passion for learning and teaching culture, while understanding the healing power of connection to culture came later in my early adult years. I am married and a proud father of five beautiful children. Being my best version of a father is extremely important to me.

I am the joint owner of Bawamarra Cultural Services. Bawamarra Cultural Services provides individualised cultural centred holistic mentoring to all children facing challenges, particularly children and youth in OOHC and involved with the justice system. Mentoring children and youth holds immense significance and can have a transformative impact on their lives. Bawamarra Cultural Services provides cultural consultation which endeavours to facilitate the design, implementation and embedment of Aboriginal perspectives and values across all areas of business to ensure genuine culturally appropriate service delivery. Bawamarra Cultural Services develops and delivers cultural awareness education packages for all workplaces who are looking for genuine cultural understanding for personal and business growth. The cultural awareness education packages are developed on request after consultation with your team to ensure we create and tailor the specific training to the needs and gaps of your target group. Bawamarra Cultural Services provides cultural immersion programs and workshops in community, institution, and school settings. The cultural immersion programs and workshops are developed on request after consultation with your team to ensure we create the best experiences for your target group. Bawamarra Cultural services believes education is a powerful catalyst for change.

Some of my previous positions have been cultural educator and mentor with Dhinewan Mentoring, various positions with the Department of Communities and Justice including Aboriginal Senior Project Officer, and an Environmental Health Officer with Central Coast Local Health District.

I also have a strong passion in improving the mental health and wellbeing of all our society and in particular supporting men. From this passion I founded the Central Coast Men’s Wellbeing Circle. I was also on the Board of Directors of the charity Ripple Movement.

I am also deeply passionate about exercise and sport. I am involved in Rugby League and ensure I create regular time for exercise.
