Kate Washington MP is a passionate advocate for children, young people, and families. She has spent the last eight years representing her community of Port Stephens in Parliament, while also holding various Shadow Ministerial responsibilities.

Before Parliament, Kate was a partner in a law firm in Newcastle specialising in health law, representing people with disability and their families. She turned to politics to make the positive changes needed to build stronger communities.

As Minister for Families and Communities, Kate is committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable families right across NSW.
