With over 19 years experience working in the welfare sector across community, government as well as her own private practice, Helen is dedicated to contributing to the growth and healing of children impacted by trauma and adverse childhood experiences and strengthening and enhancing the family fabric.

Helen is a registered play therapist, clinical social worker, parent educator, mother, certified filial therapist and founder/director of her group private practice, Play Therapy Hub, a specialist play therapy clinic for children and families in the north and west part of Melbourne.

Helen’s area of expertise include working with children under 5 with early developmental and/or relational trauma, anxiety, attachment disruption challenges including children who have been inter country or locally adopted and/or in permanent foster care. She is a trained group facilitator in attachment based parenting programs, Circle of Security and Tuning in to Kids.

Using a developmental trauma and attachment focused lens, Helen has a particular interest in applying both humanistic play therapy methodologies that work on the inside out and relational neuro sciences like polyvagal theory and interpersonal neurobiology to create necessary felt safety and connection for new neural integration, healing and transformation to take place.
