Mark Burgess is a qualified Social Worker and currently the Caretaker of the Specialist Child Protection Unit (SCPU) within the Department of Communities to elevate the profile of child protection and strengthen practice within Communities. The SCPU was established at the end of 2020 and is one of four Centres of Excellence that are currently being created within Communities.. Mark has a history in youth justice and child protection in both the government and non government sector.
